AES Solar are delighted to introduce our latest cohort of new starts to help manage the demand for solar power.
We have recruited twelve members of staff to streamline and increase operational capacity across all departments as part of our new starts surge. This recruitment is creating strong work opportunities in an exciting sector, all within Moray. We currently employ 36 people from our head office in Forres.
AES Solar, and the industry as a whole, have reported incredible growth and unprecedented demand. This is due to energy insecurity, economic instability and rising energy costs. Our busiest weeks correlate with Ofgem announcing the energy cap increases in both April and October. Understandably, homeowners and businesses are turning to solar now, to bring down costs and improve their energy security.
Sustainable living and working are also significant drives. Customers are switching from fossil fuels to renewable alternatives to reduce their carbon footprint. After all, let’s not forget we’re one year on now from COP26 in Glasgow.
Solar Pioneers
The first department to receive a new starts surge has been our finance department. This is overseen by our new Finance Manager, Lynn Davidson. Lynn works closely with the Senior Leadership Team to help steer the company through this wave of unprecedented demand. We’re glad to have you onboard Lynn!

Lynn is also joined by Melanie Olivant as Assistant Accountant and Martina Spevackova in the role of Accounts Administrator. Finally, we have the valuable addition of Maloa Fieldhouse. Maloa makes up the final member of our finance team as Systems Coordinator. Maloa ensures we are making the most out of our IT systems and processes. Despite the evidence against us, we promise we don’t just hire people with names beginning with the letter M as will soon becomes apparent…

Electrifying Growth for Technical Team
Our technical team is also enhanced by two new members of staff. That means we can handle more technical queries and produce more quotes for our customers. Sam Wiggins joined the team in May with a background in race car mechanics! Sam is accompanied by one of our newest recruits, Allan Simpson, both in the position of Design Engineer. Fun fact about Allan – he used to volunteer at a reptile sanctuary looking after a 16ft python and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do! Though we promise he’s a very friendly guy and can’t wait to get stuck in as an AES Solar engineer.

Our team has also massively benefited from the addition of Laurie Martinez as Technical Admin Assistant. Laurie who has joined us from France is responsible for issuing the MCS certificate and Handover Pack to customers on completion of the project as well as other important tasks and is incredibly appreciated in her role.
Not to be left out, our Operations Department is joined by Pia Parada Pimentel as Operations Admin Assistant. Originally from Chile, Pia has been a valuable addition to the Operations team and trained originally as a Construction Engineer so we can’t wait to pick her brains when it comes to renovating our office. She also makes a fantastic fruit scone so what’s not to love?

Bright Sparks in Manufacturing and Sales
The manufacturing team has also benefited from a new faces. Kyle Esson join us as Manufacturing and Warehouse Assistant. We also welcomed back Dylan Strachan to the team in a similar role.
Our sales team expanded way back at the start of the year in January with Andrew Austin joining in the position of Sales Consultant. Andrew took to the job like a duck takes to water and almost a year into the role he is as knowledgeable on our products and services as any of our brilliant sales team. Welcome to the team, Andrew!
Solar Powered Future
Renewables are proving themselves more than ever during the energy crisis. With this AES Solar new starts surge, we are primed to help more people across Scotland cut their energy bills and end their reliance on expensive energy companies. Their fresh perspectives and ideas will benefit staff, customers, and the local community alike. We are delighted to welcome them to the AES Solar team and cannot wait to see what they achieve in their new roles. Watch this space!
