AES Solar Announces Mikeysline Charity of the Year 2025/2026

We are proud to announce that Mikeysline has been chosen as AES Solar’s Charity of the Year 2025/2026.

At AES, our mission is to build a brighter, more sustainable future. But sustainability isn’t just about renewable energy, it’s about supporting the wellbeing of our people and communities we call home. That’s why this year we’re proud to offer our support to a charity close to our hearts, delivering vital mental health support across the Highlands of Scotland.

About Mikeysline – Our Charity of the Year 2025/2026

Founded in 2015, Mikeysline is a Highland-based mental health charity providing vital support for people struggling with mental health and emotional distress. Born from tragedy, the charity was established to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide in the Highlands following the loss of two close friends within just 48 hours of each other.

Since then, Mikeysline has grown to become a lifeline for many across the region. Through their text-based support service, face-to-face sessions, and the Hive Hubs across the Highlands and Moray, Mikeysline offers safe, confidential spaces for people of all ages to seek help and be heard without fear or judgement.

Their message is simple: it’s ok not to be ok, and you don’t have to go through it alone.

Why It Matters to Us

While mental health struggles are not limited to any one group, it has a particularly stark impact on our sector. Construction has one of the highest suicide rates in the UK.

As a company working across both the construction and renewable energy sectors, we believe it’s time to have open, honest conversations. Mental health matters just as much as physical health. That’s why our partnership with Mikeysline is about more than fundraising; it’s about changing the culture and supporting real change in our industry and beyond.

Looking Ahead

Over the coming year, we’ll be teaming up with Mikeysline to raise awareness and funds through a programme of activities and initiatives. From company-wide challenges and staff activities to events open to the wider public, we’re aiming to make a tangible difference. And as we’re following the financial year, our activities will run right into 2026!

We’ll begin by welcoming Mikeysline to our Forres and Dingwall offices later this month, where they’ll deliver a 2-in-1 info session and Toolbox Talk, raising awareness of the important work they carry out while also offering practical advice and signposting support in a safe, stigma-free environment.

Because the evidence speaks for itself: workplaces that prioritise mental wellbeing are not only healthier, they’re also more productive, resilient and connected.

Join Us on the Journey

We’re excited to share more about our partnership in the months ahead and hope our efforts encourage others to take that first step in talking about mental health, whether for themselves or someone else.
