AES Solar will return to the Moray’s biggest one-day event to entertain visitors with science-related activities, which even includes an organic vegetable orchestra!
Due to the success of the Interactive Science Tent at Piping At Forres in 2017, this year’s marquee will be bigger and will offer even more hands-on activities.
George Goudsmit, managing director of AES Solar explained: “Piping At Forres is a huge event for Moray and as a local business it is really important for us to get involved and be part of it. We had a huge amount of fun last year and booked an even bigger marquee as soon as last year’s event was over.
“The science tent will be fun and will provide something different. It will appeal to little and big kids alike. The key to the success of the event is collaboration and we are delighted to have representatives from the T-Exchange, the Falconer Museum and STEM ambassadors who are working with the Aberdeen Science Centre.”
Musical veg
Visitors will be able to tune into their musical side by playing on a variety of instruments all made from organic vegetables including drums made from cabbages and a keyboard created from carrots.
The orchestra is being provided by the T-Exchange, a group which combines creative thinking, practical skills and new or old technology to make innovative objects and devices.
The organisation will also return with its popular Mars Rover remote-controlled vehicle whilst STEM Ambassadors co-ordinated by Aberdeen Science Centre will provide interactive activities such as circuits and electronics kits, science demos and maths puzzles.
Kinetic bike
Also returning to the attraction is Falconer Museum which will provide its kinetic bike and craft activities.
AES Solar is also providing solar-related activities which include a solar panel table where people can charge their mobile phones for free and the chance for youngsters to race solar boats.
“We have put a lot of time into this to ensure there are a huge range of activities on offer. We will have something that will appeal to everyone. It will be a lot of fun,” added George.
Piping at Forres takes place in Grant Park on June 30.
