In all honesty, we are still not fully back down to earth after being awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. So we’ve taken a few days over the weekend to collect our thoughts. With thoughts gathered we’re now delighted to go back in time and share a few highlights in the aftermath of announcing our exciting news!

Breakfast Rolls and Bubbles
We were delighted to celebrate with the team over a special breakfast at Horizon Scotland. We also invited a few special guests to mark this achievement over 40 years in the making! These VIP guests included but weren’t restricted to the Lord-Lieutenant of Moray Major General Seymour Monro, MSP for Moray Richard Lochhead and Sarah Medcraf Chief Exec at Moray Chamber of Commerce.

This award is very much a team effort. And not just in the brilliant dedication of our staff. It’s also in the support of our partners during the award application process and in the daily running of our business.
There were breakfast rolls, tea and coffee, and even some bubbles. All the important elements required to celebrate an event before starting work for the day!

Flying High
With appetites satisfied, George took the stage to share the news and thank everyone. A few of the other distinguished guests also shared a few words of congratulations.
With bellies and hearts full we then headed back to the office. A flag hoisting ceremony with a piper in tow was held to honour the very special occasion. AES Solar are delighted to hoist the Queen’s Award flag which now flies proudly over our office in Forres. We are able to fly the flag for the next five years as per the terms and conditions of the award.

One for the Photo Album
You only get a Queen’s Award for the first time once! Therefore, we knew we had to capture these special moments for the photo album. We invited Mark Richards of Aura Imaging to photograph the event and the flag ceremony. We can now look back on this happy day for many days to come. And we are delighted to share some of these photos with you now!
This was an incredibly proud moment celebrating with the team and albeit just a small selection of all our supporters over the years who made this possible. Even our remote staff, installers, and surveyors who unfortunately could not make the event in person tuned in via virtual link to hear the news first-hand.

Thank You
This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the support of our staff, customers, clients, partners, supporters and challengers so let us take this opportunity to thank you all now.
Exciting times lie ahead for AES Solar with our new royal seal approval and we can’t wait to take you on this journey with us!
